About your speaker: Ken Perry, Broker Knowledge Group
Ken Perry is President and CEO of Broker Knowledge Group and is truly a mortgage trainer at heart! His center of operations is based in Vancouver, Washington, though his speaking engagements take him all over the United States. After completing his Bachelor of Arts at Metropolitan State College of Denver, Ken entered the world of mortgage lending as a loan officer. His lending experience spanned retail to wholesale, which eventually lead him into the position of Regional Trainer of the western United States for a national mortgage banker.

Ken’s vast interactions training brokers and loan officers on conforming, government and non-prime products inspired him to pursue his dream of bringing positive change to the loan industry on a much larger scale. Description: This course is designed to enable the licensee to be CERTIFIED in Mortgage Ethics. Specific attention has been given to RESPA, Regulation Z, Mortgage Association Code of Ethics, and Advertising. Case studies will help the interactive learning experience from this course. Upon completion of this Certified in Mortgage Ethics course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify concepts of Ethics, describe the concept of general business ethics, and identify how a Code of Ethics compares and contrasts with the concept of general business ethics.

  • Briefly describe the professional standards enforcement process of the board or association.

Scott Hilton became a Texas Real estate broker in 1987 and a licensed mortgage broker in 2002. He is an accredited instructor and has founded a number of businesses supporting the real estate and mortgage communities. Rudy Licona started his career with Crocker Bank in 1978 later acquired by Wells Fargo eventually getting his start in sales a job he was born for. His last few years with CTC (subsidiary of Wells Fargo) was as Regional Sales Manager servicing the Title and Escrow industry as well as any Broker owned Escrow divisions In both Northern and Southern California.

Rudy later worked for a couple of other banks soliciting Escrow and Title companies’ depository relationship and offering our banking services in exchange. He has sold payroll, escrow trust accounting, 1099, documentation hardware and software, Title Insurance, Escrow Services for the past 30 years. His last 13 years have been enjoyed working in the Title Insurance Industry eventually finding a home with LandAmerica/Southland Title for the last 5 years serving as Vice President/Branch Manager managing an escrow division and doing sales in the High Desert Inland Empire area of Southern California.

Tim Doyle is a Vice President of Industry and Agency Relations with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS). At CSBS, Mr. Doyle is responsible for coordinating amongst state mortgage regulators the development of a national residential mortgage licensing system. Additionally, he interfaces with the mortgage industry in providing input on system development issues and works both regulators and industry to facilitate the development of consistent and modern legislative and regulatory mortgage standards across states.

Prior to joining CSBS, Mr. Doyle was a Senior Director in the Government Affairs department of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). At MBA, Mr. Doyle managed policy issues concerning residential loan production, including government lending, affordable housing, licensing, and mortgage fraud issues. Previous to working at MBA, Mr. Doyle worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development, where he worked on community development issues, with responsibilities throughout New York State. Mr. Doyle has also worked at the Community Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit, multi-family affordable housing lender, where he originated loans and consulted on HUD’s Mark-to-Market program, evaluating Section 8 subsidized properties for debt restructuring. He began his housing career working with the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) in the Single Family Housing Programs and Policies Division.
