The Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML)

The Graduate of Mortgage Lending (GML) designation is targeted to mortgage professionals offering them a broad overview of the complete industry. Professionals will have an extensive knowledge of the history and success of the mortgage industry, and the effect that business practices had on the economy and the development of government agencies, along with current industry updates.

Experience Level:
The Institute of Mortgage Lending requires 1 or more years of experience within the mortgage industry.

Participation Requirement:
The Graduate of Mortgage Lending is offered both correspondence and online. Correspondence students will have one year from their registration date to successfully study the coursework and complete the exams. Online students will have 6 weeks to interact with other students and complete the coursework and take a final exam, online students are required to log into the classroom 5 out of 7 days, anytime during a 24 hour period. Classroom students will have the option to take the Graduate of Mortgage Lending at the NAPMW Annual Convention 2007 and National Meeting and in the state of North Carolina.

Written Exam:
Correspondence students will have a mid-term between chapters eight and nine, and a final at the end of the text. Correspondence students will have their test proctored by a test administrator or proctor. Online students will have a final exam at the end of the course, with several discussion questions to be answered throughout the course. All students must receive a 75% or higher to pass the Graduate of Mortgage Lending course and receive their designation.

Continuing Education:
The Graduate of Mortgage Lending requires that a designee acquire 30 hours of continuing education credit every three years for those who attain their designation after 5/31/1998. The Graduate of Mortgage Lending Classroom Option has been approved for 8 hours continuing education for loan officers in the State of North Carolina, other state recognitions are pending.
