Join us for lunch as Robin Nave of the Anchorage Police Department discusses crime in Anchorage. 

Robin graduated with Bachelors degree in Community Crime Prevention with a Pre-Law Minor from Western Oregon University. While living in Oregon, she worked with 2 Victims Assistance Programs and focused her training and experience around domestic violence and the effects it has on children and family dynamic. After moving to Anchorage, Robin was hired by the AWAIC (Abused Women’s Aid In Crisis) Shelter in 2002.Then in 2004 she joined the Anchorage Police Department and has served the department for 13 years. For the first 11 years with APD she worked the night patrol shift. Currently she is assigned to APD’s Community Action Policing team and has been with that team for the past year and a half. In addition to Robins patrol duties she also serves on the APD Major Crime Team. Four months out of the year she works with the team to process major crime scenes within the Municipality of Anchorage.

In addition to on the job training Robin has participated and completed the following continuing education opportunities:

  • 2009 – Bomb reconstruction school in Socorro NM.
  • 2014 – National Forensics Academy from University of Tennessee in Knoxville TN – 3 month long program centered around crime scene processing and homicide investigations.
  • 2016 – Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
